Local Pennsylvania polka legend Jan Lewan develops a plan to get rich that shocks his fans and lands him in jail. This film tells the story of a Polish Polka music singer, who makes a fortune by setting up a Ponzi scheme that targets the elderly.

I thought it would be a comedy, but only after a few minutes in I already found out it was not funny at all.

The story is not so engaging because the background stories of the investors are not explained, and hence I feel little for them.

The characters in the film are not very likable either. Unfortunately, I did not like this film as I imagined I would.

Rhonda then married Steve Saive, the former trumpet player of Jan Lewan's polka band. He settled in Northeastern Pennsylvania where he continued his polka career.

During this time Lewan toured frequently. He created a polka oriented orchestra and recorded several albums. Lewan owned and operated a gift store in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

When he would tour back in Poland, he would bring back jewelry and other goods to sell in the store. To support the store, he also sold shares in the business and promised returns of 12 percent and 20 percent to investors, many of whom had traveled with him.

The state of Pennsylvania warned him to stop selling securities, but he continued. In Lewan was arrested for defrauding some people in 22 states of millions of dollars.

Lewan was sentenced to five years and 11 months imprisonment by a federal court judge as well as a seven-year sentence in New Jersey, which were served concurrently.
